Joe was born and raised in Texas. He grew up in a trucking family and worked on freight docks during the summers while he was in school.

Joe attended Texas A&M University on an Army scholarship and commissioned in the service upon graduation. After serving 6 ½ years as a Regular Army Officer, he resigned his commission to begin work for a Texas-based regional trucking company.

Since entering the transportation industry, he has worked in a number of different executive capacities, including Chief Executive Office, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Information Officer, VP Operations, VP Administration and VP Human Resources. Joe has worked with companies in a variety of industry sectors including, LTL, dry van, refrigeration, flatbed, dry bulk and petroleum tanker.

For the six years prior to joining Greatwide, Joe worked as a consultant to the transportation industry. In his consulting business, Joe worked with some of the most prestigious consulting firms in the country and some of the largest financial institutions in the world and served a broad spectrum of transportation businesses.
