Greatwide Logistics Services' Cargo-Master Unit Receives Broker of The Year Award

January 9, 2007

Greatwide Logistics Services - a Dallas-based provider of non-asset-based transportation and third party logistics - announced that Greatwide's Cargo-Master business unit is the recipient of the National Association of Small Trucking Companies' 2006 Broker of the Year award.

In its sixth year, the Broker of the Year award annually recognizes a top brokerage firm for implementing best practices in business relationships with carriers. According to NASTC President David Owen, the award exists to accomplish the seemingly impossible task of singling out the best of the best among brokerage operations.

"As the professional organization for small trucking companies and professionals, and those organizations that exist to serve these entrepreneurs, the NASTC attracts a strong and highly capable membership. Among member brokerage firms, we created a Best Brokers list of about 300 operations that are viewed by members as being the strongest in the way they treat drivers and their employers, and how they pay for loads," said Owen. "Cargo-Master was selected because of the company's strong commitment to NASTC's truck and load posting program, the company's overall business practices and consistently positive feedback from members who work with the company."

The association, which has a membership that numbers more than 2,200, started a Best Brokers program in 1991, contacting what then numbered 300 to 400 members for their choices of the best brokerage firms in the business. The resulting list was then screened for those operations that were most often named by the carriers and which passed a stringent assessment of business practices and credit worthiness to arrive at a list of the best brokers.
