Greatwide Distribution Logistics Names New Finance Leader
April 9, 2006
Greatwide Logistics Services - a national provider of non-assetbased transportation and third party logistics - today announced that David Shatto has been named vice president of its Greatwide Distribution Logistics business unit. With more than 10 years of contract third party logistics (3PL) experience, Shatto will play a strategic role at the company, handling financial planning and analysis, systems and processes management, and assisting with deeper integration of the unit into the Greatwide Logistics Services value proposition. Additionally, he will be involved in financial strategies surrounding future mergers and acquisitions opportunities pursued by the company.
"Dave brings a wealth of new capabilities and depth to the Greatwide Distribution Logistics organization," said Vin Gulisano, president of Greatwide Distribution Logistics. "Despite the wide range of physical and virtual assets we have, the talents of our leadership provide significant differentiation for our organization in the logistics field. Dave's strong experience and knowledge about how our services are sold and delivered will help move our businessforward."
Prior to joining Greatwide Distribution Logistics, Shatto worked at Exel Logistics and Tibbett & Britten Group Americas, where he held a series of positions in the finance group. He ultimately was responsible for the organization's operational finance function, playing an integral role in the acquisition of the company by Exel. He began his career at Peat Marwick Main & Company, serving clients in the manufacturing, mining, nonprofit and public sectors.
Shatto earned bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from Denver University. A CPA licensed in Colorado, he is a member of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Shatto is the father of four children and, prior to moving to the Phoenix area for this new position, was an active volunteer in both the Denver and Colorado Springs areas. He has coached youth flag football, served as treasurer of the Denver Civic Theater and donated time to Volunteers for Colorado.
