The formation and subsequent growth of Greatwide Logistics Services has
taken place in several stages; since 2000, the company has an active
history, including acquisition of nine major transportation, logistics,
warehouse/distribution and truckload brokerage firms:
August 2000: Platform acquisition
of Transport Industries, L.P., the nation’s largest third-party
provider of “closed loop” transportation services to the grocery
industry; based in Mesquite, Texas
December 2003: Acquisition of May Trucking Inc., a dedicated
carrier trucking company operating in 48 U.S. states, based in
Grottoes, Virginia
June 2004: Acquisition of Total Distribution, a major
non-asset-based warehouse and distribution logistics provider, based in
Phoenix, Arizona
July 2004: Acquisition of American Trans-Freight, a major
non-asset-based truckload capacity provider, based in Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania
September 2004: Acquisition of Stewart Stiles, a major regional transport and logistics provider in Cornelius, Oregon
September 2004: Acquisition of N.F.C., a trucking transport
carrier for Nordstrom department stores, based in Portland, Oregon
April 2005: Transport Industries Holdings formed and Raymond B. Greer named President and CEO
September 2005: Acquisition of Cargo-Master Inc., one of nation’s
largest privately held trucking brokerage and logistics companies,
based in Dallas, Texas.
September 2005: Acquisition of Am-Can Transport Services Inc., a
major U.S.-dedicated truckload and logistics provider serving the
Southeast, Midwest, West Coast, Northwest and Canada, based in
Anderson, South Carolina.
September 2005: Acquisition of Dallas & Mavis Specialized
Carrier Co., one of nation’s largest truckload carriers, based in
Kenosha, Wisconsin.
January 2006: Company rebranded as Greatwide Logistics Services.
December 2006: Majority ownership of Greatwide Logistics Services
is sold to Investcorp and Hicks Holdings LLC by Fenway Partners, which
retained a minority stake in the company.
